Attacking Stress Anxiety Before It Attacks You

Executive Summary About Stress Anxiety By John Michailidis

Stress anxiety involves feelings of apprehension and fear associated with prolonged exposure to stressful people and situations. While isolated instances of anxiety are normal, stress anxiety disorder is a debilitating condition in which fear and apprehension becomes a chronic and regular part of one’s daily life.

At its most basic level, stress anxiety is nothing more than your body’s natural “fight or flight” response kicking in with respect to a perceived threat. The “fight or flight” response is triggered when your body releases a powerful flood of stress hormones into your system as a result of a perceived threat. This release of hormones puts a great strain on your body’s systems and organs. Over time, constant stress and the effects of the fight or flight response causes the body to break down.

You can actually learn to recognize and prevent the “fight or flight” response through the use of highly effective stress management techniques such as: yoga, herbs and nutrients, deep breathing exercise, stress balls, relaxation tapes and CD’s, and stress reliever games. Humor can also be a great stress buster!
